The problem

Weatherford Rehabilitation Hospital, based in Weatherford, TX, needed a new CEO for their facility. However, their work is complex: the hospital specializes in the care of complex medical and rehabilitative patients who have suffered a stroke, spinal cord injury, major multiple trauma, amputation, brain injury or neurological disorder.

The hospital required the best possible candidate for such a crucial position. They were in a growth mode and needed a leader who could guide the facility in the challenges of expansion, as well as having current CEO experience in a rehab hospital.

The solution

GHS understood that for a role of this level, it was crucial to uncover every possible candidate. This required a national search to source all potential viable candidates.

First, we identified all CEO’s at rehab hospitals of similar-sized facilities. Then, through a comprehensive and in-depth campaign, we touched base with all viable candidates. In the end, we presented the top 5 candidates to our client for consideration -- though our team profiled and qualified nearly 50 excellent choices!

The outcome

The hospital was able to interview all 5 candidates, and ended up choosing and hiring their top choice.

The new CEO brought a wealth of experience in healthcare senior leadership, including a master’s degree in Health Services Administration. He had previously served as CEO at a similar facility in Texas, and was excited to focus on quality outcomes along all areas of the continuum of care in his new role.
